While not at the top of the list of favorites, one standout yet to be mentioned is Nox, specifically the online multiplayer mode. They both look super fun but like you said planescape is more of a story based game Note: Troika - Arcanum, Temple of Elemental Evil and Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines. There were no roadside billboards for either game. Rated #1 CRPG by the Codex.īlack Isle - Fallout 1 & 2, Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale, Planescape: Tormentīoth still look good. Story heavy, rated as "story fag" level on the RPGCodex. Troika - Arcanum, Temple of Elemental Evil and Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines.ĩ0's CRPGs. It was one of Troika Games () but launched with a lot of bugs. Some tech heavy builds are not welcome in high magic places. For example, if you play a magic heavy build they put you at the back of the train because it might cause the engine to explode.
Fantasy races are mixing in society, racism and intolerance. The game is interesting for its take on a fantasy world at the start of an industrial revolution. Plus you get to brutalize Africa and exploit its resources, but that can be said for all paradox titles.ĬK2 is good if you're into incest and game of thrones type intrigues, EU4 is addictive, stellaris if you're into space. So you can pit your dream fascist state against all the limp dicked democracies. You get to manage the level of woke your populace has and depending on how woke they are you get certain policies like laissez faire, state capitalism, planned economy, etc. You start in 1838 (coronation of Queen Victoria) and guide a country though the end of absolutism, through the Springtime of Nations and industrial revolution, through WWI to the rise of socialism and fascism. Older and not as shiny as some of the newer titles but it's a political and economic simulator foremost. But if you didn't like the pacing, complexity, systems or historical aspects you may not like other titles. HoI III/IV's downfall is the bad AI and clunky combat, so if that's what you didn't like you might like other pdox. They're all the very similar quality really, characterized by elaborate, complex mechanics.
Which one is the best paradox? Hearts of L-Ron didn't do it for me. *flies across 2fort mid at 60mph, stun grenade jumps up and beats sniper to death w crowbar* I can bhop in that game 1000 miles an hour including like backwards bhopping etc and it's easily the funnest movement in anything I do think TFC was kinda the best, even though CS is like 3D computer equivalent of Chess or Tetris or something to me.
Still remember coming home with the box from California, I had a severe sunburn on my pale legs that was peeling off sheets of skin so thick you could have upholstered a dildo with them.
But still had to go to the university with dad to patch to 1.4 or 1.5 in the end lol.
I bought the CS box because DLing the mod on dialup was too brutal. you know, before EBGames became Ye Olde Mario Plushie and Halo Shoppe. Including CounterStrike Linux Server edition. I still remember going into EBGames and seeing 10 box arts in that style all side by side. Ps gosh that box art tickles my childhood. Theyyyyyyyy didn't start steam to patch CS :p I always felt like UT99 was more like quake. I mean they started STEAM for goodness sakes so they could patch counter strike.
Unreal tournament (1999) was cool but Half Life with mods like Team Fortress and Counter Strike were just too big not to be apart of.
